2019 Climbing New Zealand National Championship Open Combined Lead Speed and Boulder Age categories: Open (born in or before 2004)

 

This is a stand alone event to crown the New Zealand National Champions (male and female) for Combined Lead Speed and Boulder for 2019. This event is also the qualifying event for the New Zealand Opens team to attend the Oceania Championships in 2020 in Sydney. 

The event is sanctioned by Climbing New Zealand, hosted by Bay of Plenty Sportclimbing Association, and takes place at Rocktopia, 9 Triton Avenue, Mount Maunganui (Lead and Boulder), and Blake Park,40 Kawaka St, Mount Maunganui (Speed)

Entry fee options for this competition are $55 (Early Bird), $65 (Regular Fee)

Registrations close midnight Thursday 17th October 2019. Early Bird registration price ends midnight Thursday 10th October 2019. Late registrations and those taken on competitions day will incur an additional $20 late fee.

Saturday 19 October

8.50am Technical meeting - athletes and team managers

9am Speed warm up opens at Blake Park

10am Speed Practice Men then Women

11am Speed Qualification Men then Women

12.30pm Boulder Isolation opens at Rocktopia

1.30pm Boulder Qualifications start. Men and Women together. 4 Blocs, 5 min on 5 mins off

4.40pm Boulder finishes

5.30pm Isolation closes lead

6.30pm Viewing for lead Qualifier, Men and Women

6.45pm Lead Qualifiers start, men and women.

9.15pm Climbing finishes

 

Sunday 20th October

Top 8 per gender through to Finals (IFSC Rule 11.2.B)

All finals men and women climb at the same time

 

11am Speed warm up opens at Blake Park. (Rocktopia under closed isolation rules from 7am)

12pm Speed finals Women then Men

1pm Isolation closes at Rocktopia 

1.05 Bloc observation. 3 blocs, 2 mins per bloc

1.20pm Boulder Finals

2.45pm Lead observation

3pm Lead Finals

4pm Prizegiving
