These selections are provisional. Appeals close at 11:59 pm on Monday 12 October 2026, and the CNZ Committee then ratifies the selections.
The Selection Committee has made provisional selections to the 2026–27 Boulder Development Squad in Open, U19 and U17. They are based on the results of Boulder A Nationals at Boulder Co, Hamilton on 26 September 2026.
The top 30% of eligible athletes in each gender and category are selected, as set out in Table 1 of the CNZ Selection Policy.
This is not the full squad
This page lists only the athletes selected from the latest competition. Squad selection lasts two years (clause 5.2 of the policy), and athletes who move up an age category in their second year stay in the squad (clause 5.3). We’ll publish the full squad once selections are final.

Being in the squad doesn’t guarantee a place at any event. When an international competition comes up, CNZ sends an expression of interest to squad athletes and selects the team from those who reply.
Appeals
If you wish to make an appeal, email selection@climbing.nz (CC president@climbing.nz) before 11:59 pm on Monday 12 October 2026. Section 7 of the CNZ Selection Policy explains how appeals work.
What happens next
The Selection Committee will consider any appeals, then the CNZ Committee ratifies the selections. We’ll publish the full 2026–27 Boulder Development Squad here once selections are final.
