New Zealand doesn’t have a fixed national team. It’s rebuilt each season through squad selection and per-competition EOIs.
How selection works
Athletes compete at the CNZ National Championships. The Selection Committee reviews results and names Development Squads — one per discipline — for the upcoming season.
When CNZ is invited to send athletes to an international competition, squad members receive an expression of interest (EOI). Athletes confirm availability, then CNZ selects the team for that event. Rosters vary between competitions — events have different age categories, and athletes have their own schedules.
Regional events in Australia, NZ regional competitions, and commercial comps are open for self-entry. CNZ doesn’t manage selection for those.
