Selection Criteria NZ Team – 2018/19 – Update

The Selection Criteria for the NZ Team has been updated for this year and can be found under the NZTeam tab (“Selection Criteria NZ Team 2018/19”).

There is one change to the criteria from last year’s policy:

For Lead climbing selection eligibility: athletes must attend a minimum of ONE Climbing NZ Lead competition in 2018.

2018 NZ Competition Dates

23 Dec

2018 Dates have been posted and can be found on the Competitions tab. Please note that the Climbing NZ Nationals for 2018 will be titled The National Championship Series and will consist of a Bouldering Series of 3 events and a Lead Series of 2 events. Overall Team Cup for 2018 will be awarded to the team with the most number of points from all 5 events. Overall Individual Bouldering and Lead Champions and Placings will be determined by summing results from all events attended. In the event of a draw the Lead and Boulder Champions will be determined by giving greater weight to the competition that had the greatest number of entrants for the category in question.

CNZ and Sport New Zealand

We are delighted to announce today that our application to establish a working relationship with Sport New Zealand has been conditionally approved – subject to amendments to the CNZ constitution re Drug Free Sport. Looking forward to exciting times ahead as Sport Climbing develops in Aotearoa.

New Zealand Olympic Committee Selects Sarah Tetzlaff for Buenos Aires 2018

The New Zealand Olympic Committee today announced that Sarah Tetzlaff has been selected for the New Zealand Youth Olympic Games Team for Buenos Aires 2018 http://www.olympic.org.nz/news/first-athlete-selected-into-youth-commonwealth-games-team/   The announcement was made by NZOC CEO Kereyn Smith at HangDog Indoor Climbing Centre Lower Hutt. Congratulations Sarah!
