Clubs elected three new members to the Climbing New Zealand Management Committee at a special general meeting on Wednesday 7 October. They take over from Chris Warburton, JJ Niles and Jaron Faber.
Thank you
Chris has been involved with CNZ since 2017, including as Vice President and, under the previous constitution, as a club representative. Chris convened the Coaching and Development sub-committee, sat on Selection, and has managed our athletes at Australian Youth and World Youth Championships. We’re glad Chris is staying on as a selector.
JJ and Jaron have been our Athletes’ Representative and Treasurer since September 2025, part of the first committee under the new constitution. Thank you, all three.
Welcome
Gearóid (Gerry) Coholan is our new Treasurer, nominated by Canterbury Flying Geckos. Gerry is an operations manager in construction and has been on our Policy and Governance sub-committee for the past six months.
Amanda Speed is our Athletes’ Representative, nominated by Bay of Plenty Sport Climbing Association. Amanda has competed at national and international level and works as a doctor.
