Information regarding WYC 2014, New Caledonia
Dear National Federations,
On behalf of the IFSC Executive Board, I’m sending you the following communication regarding the IFSC World Youth Championship 2014:
Due to the recent destruction of the climbing wall in Nouméa, New Caledonia the IFSC asks all National Federations who are currently placing bookings for this event to refrain completing these until the situation in Nouméa can be fully assessed.
We are currently completing this assessment, together with the FFME and the Oceania Council, and we are considering the possibility to postpone this event.
We will make a further announcement in the upcoming weeks.
 Best regards, Francesca Jengo

Our thoughts are with climbing colleagues in New Caledonia.
Climbing New Zealand would like to pass on our thoughts to our fellow climbers in New Caledonia. Their magnificent climbing structure was destroyed by fire last night. Those who competed in the 2013 Oceania Championships understand the magnitude of such devastation, while we are thankful there was no loss of life – we know this destruction is a massive blow to the climbing community in New Caledonia.
