Many thanks to all athletes participating in the weekend’s 2016 NZ Lead Climbing Champs and congratulations to all category podium placings.

Open Lead Climbing champions for this year are Sarah Hay and Sefton Priestley.  Well done!

Thanks again to the Flying Geckos club and the YMCA Adventure Centre for hosting the event and to all the CNZ officials – route setters, belayers, judges and volunteers.

A fantastic finale to a great year for NZ sport climbing and we’re looking forward to more exciting competition action next year.

Fantastic Climbing!

NZ Bouldering champs at Hangdog just over – and what a fantastic event it was! Big shout out to all who made it happen – Brook, Frank, Jacob, and the crew at the Dog, Ian, Pete and Emma for the best bouldering problems to date, the dynamic Dynomites organising committee and – of course – the amazing climbers and their indefatigable supporters. Well done to all!

2016 Lead National Champs Christchurch registration open

Online Registration is now open for this event.  Please go to the Competitions Tab and drop down to 2016 Lead Championships Christchurch to register.

This event is being held on Sept 17/18 at YMCA Adventure Centre, 239 Waltham Rd, Christchurch (formerly the Roxx).

This event is open to all ages. Competitors aged 16+ may enter the Opens competition as well as the competition for their own age category.

There is a 1st place cash prize of $250 for the male and female winners of the Opens competition, which will be held entirely on Sat 17th Sept (note: the CNZ ‘free entry to the next National Comp’ prize for Opens winners still applies – so this is a bonus).
